After journeying nearly 10,000 nautical miles, through 4 of the 5 global oceanic gyres, over the course of 3 years, Bonnie Monteleone started her fight to end plastic pollution when in September 2012, together with Paul Lorenzo, she founded the Plastic Ocean Project.
She has since traveled the world equipped with her tales of a plastic ocean and her artwork teaching people about the threat of marine debris.
In the 17 years since she started her journey, she has inspired thousands of people, all over the world, to get involved and help solve the problem of plastic pollution.
