WILMINGTON, NC- May 23 2024- The Plastic Ocean Project is thrilled to announce the annual Trash’n Fash’n Show, set to take place on June 1st at the beautiful gardens of the New Hanover County Arboretum. This unique fundraising event promises to be an unforgettable evening of creativity, community, and environmental awareness, featuring stunning outfits made from recycled and repurposed materials, designed by talented local designers of all ages.

Marvel at the innovative designs while enjoying delicious eats from A&M’s Red Food Truck along with refreshing drinks from local vendors. While you’re there, check out the upcycled musical inspired pieces by Nothing Too Fancy Designs and relax to the live music sponsored by Gilligan’s Island. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to enjoy the show comfortably.

The show not only highlights the incredible talent within the Wilmington community but also supports a vital cause. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Plastic Ocean Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to mitigating the plastic pollution in our ocean and promoting sustainable practices.

“The event is a celebration of creativity and sustainability,” said Rose Kurian, one of the high school organizers of the show. “It’s amazing to see the talent each year and how designers transform everyday waste to art while supporting the mission of the Plastic Ocean Project.”
